Usually, when squirrels put nests in this window, it's because they are going to have baby squirrels. You guessed it. A few days later, I saw a few tiny baby squirrels in the window. But this mama squirrel is very protective of her babies. She hides the baby squirrels by building a tunnel in the nest so I can't see them, and then the moss around the nest is brown, so she blends right in. She made a hiding place and space to protect her baby squirrels. You are my hiding place. You will preserve me from trouble. You will surround me with songs of deliverance.

As I watch daily as she rebuilds the nest, I think about God the Father and how he protects us. He gives us a hiding place when we need protection from life's storms. Not only does He protect us, but He surrounds us with songs of deliverance. Zephaniah says God is with us, He is mighty to save, and He will rejoice over us with singing (Zephaniah 3:17).
